Christian Solidarity International (CSI), together with the Central Council of Armenians in Germany, is hosting an event in Berlin today to present the "Swiss Peace Initiative for Nagorno-Karabakh." Swiss parliamentarians are in Berlin to discuss the initiative at the Bundestag, followed by this evening's public presentation at the Evangelical Academy in Berlin.
The initiative, based on Motion 24.4259 adopted by the Swiss Parliament, aims to facilitate open dialogue between Azerbaijan and representatives of the Armenian population of Nagorno-Karabakh.
The expulsion of the Armenian population from Nagorno-Karabakh has led to enormous suffering and geopolitical instability. Switzerland, with its tradition of neutrality and mediation, is in a unique position to advance this peace process. The Peace Initiative emphasizes that security and justice for the victims of displacement must be at the forefront.
